2024 Nottingham Little League OD/Field Duty Schedule

General Information

• The schedule runs from Mondays through Saturdays each week.
• Saturday field duties begin at 12:00 PM.
• No field duty or OD on Sundays; instead, Managers/Teams are responsible for field maintenance.

Officer on Duty (OD) Responsibilities

Shift Coverage

• If you cannot cover your assigned OD shift, YOU are responsible for finding a replacement.
• All switches must be reported to the OD Coordinator, Mike DiGregorio.
• Do not no-show.

Arrival & Departure

• Weekday shifts: Start at 5:15 PM and end after the last game.
• Saturday shifts: Start at 12:15 PM and end after the last game.
• The OD must be the last person to leave.
• Ensure all kitchen staff safely reach their vehicles before leaving.

Field & Facility Responsibilities

• Field Safety: OD determines field playability before games; responsibility shifts to plate umpire once games start.
• Opening & Closing:
• Unlock all gates and bathrooms at the start of the shift.
• Lock everything at the end of the shift.
• OD keys are in the kitchen—ask the staff.
• Check in the kitchen periodically to offer help.
• Be alert during games.
• If a coach or spectator is ejected, OD must ensure they leave.
• If they refuse, OD must contact the police.
• Report incidents to the President and League VP.

Field Duty Crew Responsibilities

• Raise the Flag: Must be raised before games and stored after.
• Bathroom Maintenance: Ensure cleanliness, stock supplies, and mop as needed.
• Field Preparation:
• Ensure fields are lined in order: Reed → Tola → Gallagher.
• Post-Game Maintenance:
• Rake baselines, home plate, and pitching mounds (with the grass).
• Drag the infield with a Gator or 3-wheeler.

Cost

• $40/game (e.g., two games in a night = $80 total).
